london marathon 3 tim

Mr Tim Andrews

Managing Director, Hollywood Monster, we are wondering when the Queen will be recognising him on her New Year honours list for all of his charity work.

Managing Director of Hollywood Monster, Tim has built a highly successful large format print and signage business.

Tim started the business with his father, originally from their family home’s loft space in Hollywood, Birmingham. Since then, Hollywood Monster has become one of the largest in its sector, supplying clients nationwide with a range of graphics and digitally printed products, and employing around 70 staff locally in Birmingham.

Tim and the business have a reputation for supporting local charities and community projects. In between Tim’s love for boating, Birmingham City FC, and the odd party, Tim has ran several marathons, over 100 half marathons, and cycles many countries in Europe. Along with organizing a host of charity events, all of which has help him raise in excess of £750,000 for local causes. This has also seen him pick up a number of accolades and be recognised as a leading corporate fundraiser.

Tim is Chairman and Trustee of LoveBrum, a local charity that unearths hidden gem projects, funds and supports them.

Tim loves that Birmingham is a friendly, multi-cultured city that is great to do business in. It’s a large village, with a city approach, and world-beating ambition.

london marathon 4 pj

Mr PJ Ellis

"Ex-Solicitor. Proud Dad. Bluenose. Golf-Nut. Philanthropist. Has cankles. Ricemedia. Taggr. Co-founder LoveBrum. MD bukbro. London Marathon 2016".

You can probably tell that he keeps himself busy.

A Brummie through and through, PJ is committed to making a difference. Running the marathon for LoveBrum and Liam's Smiles will help do just this. Raising money to support projects, families, and kids within Birmingham will definitely keep him going for those gruelling 26 miles, just as it did when he cycled 770 miles (from Switzerland to Birmingham), in seven days back in 2013.

He's never run a marathon before. So wish him luck.

Away from the above, PJ is a massive family man, and loves nothing better than chilling out with his wife Kelly, son Blake and daughter Minnie.

On top of this Andy has completed the Marathon Des Sables (World’s toughest footrace), Ironman and other long distance cycling and running events. He does not consider himself to be particularly fit!

Liam’s Smiles and LoveBrum have inspired him to not only complete the London Marathon in April; he will also be completing a continuous Double Ironman in June which consists of a 4.8 mile swim, 232 mile bike ride and a 52 mile run. Andy is married with two young children and is known for his sharp dress sense in that he wears shorts and crocs all year round.

london marathon 9 gary

Gary Rowett Manger of Birmingham City FC

Gary Rowett is currently the first team manger of championship Birmingham City FC Club where he enjoyed a spell playing for them between 1998-2000

My career quickly started off at Cambridge United and was swiftly followed by Everton, Derby, Leicester and Charlton athletics and subsequently Burton Albion. After a couple of years out of the games I was appointed assistant Manager to Paul Peschisolido at Burton Albion before taking charge myself in 2012. During this 2 year spell I tuck the club to the first division play offs and the following season to sixth place. However with Burton been top of the first division I decided to make the move to Birmingham City FC and enjoyed my first season at the club taking them to near play off places after been near relegation on my arrival.

I'm running the Virgin London Marathon to help raise awareness and money for my nominated charity Liam's Smiles in support of Colin and Becky Doyle's son Liam.

london marathon 10 rebecca

Rebecca Doyle

Wife to Colin Doyle, mother to Harry age 13, Ava age 7 and Liam age 5. I'm a full time mum, carer for Liam and active fundraiser.

After Liam battled meningitis at 7 weeks of age I was left heartbroken and alone. In March 2014 I trekked part of the Great Wall of China raising money for Meningitis Now. In the years that followed I watched my son battle against epilepsy and further meningitis. We watched him fight for his life and overcome each episode with a smile on his face. In October 2014 Liam's Smiles foundation was born supporting meningitis now.

In the last year I have done a charity ball for my son launching Liam's smiles and I speak about our journey as a family. On Boxing Day 2014 I started to run. Since that first run, I have ran 3 half marathons , two 10ks and four 5k runs. I have also have 3 mud runs and a fire walk!

So in April 2016 I will take on the Virgin London Marathon. To me it seems like the ultimate in running events and I take on this challenge with an amazing and supportive team who I'm honoured to be running along side with.

london marathon 11 paul

Mr Paul Rivers

Paul is a Silhillian, keen Blues fan and Chairman of RE:SYSTEMS, who provide web development and mobile App services to a wide range of clients.

After always saying I would never run a marathon (I have done several half marathons) I am inspired to finally do so by Becky and the work she does for Liam’s Smiles and her tireless devotion to looking after her family. It will be great to run with such a good group of brummies and I’m sure there will be a little competition over times!

Outside work, and of course football (!) I am a keen skier, to be found in the Alps most years as soon as the snow arrives, and I have also been know to entertain if there’s a piano around! I’m relying on the good guys at MK Health Hub to get me fit enough for the marathon, but I am thoroughly looking forward to it.

Every charity story is an personal one, and I am looking forward to writing my own personal chapter for Liam’s Smiles
